In the US, 35 million men and 21 million women are experiencing hair loss. Now there’s a way to regain hair density in the comfort of Dr. Stanislaus’ office. No surgery or harmful side effects.

PRP for Hair Regrowth

Now doctors have discovered new benefits for hair thickening and regrowth and skin rejuvenation. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) for hair restoration involves a simple injection of your own platelets into the vascular layer of your scalp. PRP for Hair Regrowth:

  • Increases blood supply to the follicle
  • Increases shaft size (thickness) of the follicle
  • Triggers and maintains the growth phase
  • Controls the hair growth cycle
  • Decreases hair loss

What is PRP?

Platelets in your blood contain healing growth factors. Those growth factors are like signal callers that give instructions to your tissue to regenerate and multiply. PRP is simply the collection of a patient’s own platelets, which are then injected back into the patient to regenerate his or her tissue.

Different fields of medicine utilize PRP for wound healing to speed up recovery time and regrow healthier, stronger tissue.

PRP Hair Restoration is revolutionary. It’s quick, convenient, and there’s no downtime.

Am I a candidate for PRP hair loss treatment?

The best candidates for PRP hair restoration treatments are patients with areas of “weak quality” hair growth on the scalp, where functioning hair follicles can still be observed, and patients with small areas of alopecia areata.

Dr. Stanislaus and her staff can help you assess whether PRP is the right treatment for you.

Is PRP for hair loss time consuming?

No. Collecting the PRP usually takes 10-15 minutes, and the PRP treatment itself is even faster. Expect to be in the office for a total of about an hour. Here’s the procedure:

  • We draw your blood and place it into a centrifuge.
  • The concentrated platelets are then drawn into a syringe.
  • Using a small needle, we strategically inject the platelets into your scalp in the areas where you desire improvement.

The recommended course of therapy is a series of 3 treatments spaced one month apart, with an additional treatment 3 months later.

Once the initial series is completed, Dr. Stanislaus may suggest a maintenance regimen, which is generally 1-3 treatments per year.

Does PRP for hair loss hurt?

There may be some sensitivity. However, Dr. Stanislaus can offer nitrous oxide or cooling therapy as an analgesic to minimize any potential discomfort.

In your consultation, we will discuss options with you.

What’s the recovery time for PRP hair loss treatment?

There is zero downtime. Just avoid harsh dyes and chemicals on your hair for 48 hours after the treatment.

How long does it take to see results with PRP for hair loss?

Although you will start to see improvement in hair texture, thickness of hair shaft and growth of new hairs in the treated area within two weeks after treatment, it typically takes three to six months from your initial treatment to see measurable results.
