No. Collecting the PRP usually takes 10-15 minutes, and the PRP treatment itself is even faster. Expect to be in the office for a total of about an hour. Here’s the procedure:
- We draw your blood and place it into a centrifuge.
- The concentrated platelets are then drawn into a syringe.
- Using a small needle, we strategically inject the platelets into your scalp in the areas where you desire improvement.
The recommended course of therapy is a series of 3 treatments spaced one month apart, with an additional treatment 3 months later.
Once the initial series is completed, Dr. Stanislaus may suggest a maintenance regimen, which is generally 1-3 treatments per year.
