How does Halo™ laser treatment work?
The Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to microscopic treatment zones. This gives Halo the unique ability to provide separate treatments for the epidermis (the skin surface), which heals quickly, and the dermis (the deeper, collagen layer of skin), which remodels more slowly over time. How does BBL laser treatment work?
BBL laser skin treatment works through a process of selective photothermolysis. The light emitted during treatment penetrates skin and precisely targets a structure or tissue. That light energy is then selectively absorbed by those specific tissues. During skin rejuvenation treatment, heating the deeper dermal tissue stimulates fibroblasts to repair and rebuild collagen for firmer, smoother skin.
For those fighting age spots, freckles, melasma and other causes of blotchy or uneven skin tone, the light emitted by BBL targets melanin to destroy the darker cells causing discoloration. BBL can also be targeted to destroy hemoglobin, which contributes to redness of the skin caused by small blood vessels near the surface. When cells containing a lot of melanin or hemoglobin are hit with BBL energy, they heat up and are destroyed in a fraction of a second. BBL energy also treats acne by killing bacteria beneath the skin’s surface and reducing inflammation.
Because these treatments are non-ablative, meaning they don’t damage or burn the top layer of skin, you can combine laser treatment with other anti-aging skin treatment such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels and others that target the outermost layer of the skin.

Today’s laser skin treatments are generally relatively painless and require no downtime. The brief sessions can be performed in-office in just minutes. More intense needs and longer sessions may cause discomfort and some recovery time.
